Camps and Clinics

Pride of the Diamond is proud to offer a variety of camps and clinics throughout the year for you and your organization.  Whether it be choosing one of our camps below or customizing a camp or clinic to fit your organizations needs, we will maximize your learning experience by providing a fun and educational environment.

This year we will be offering camps at two different locations:

 

All-Skills Camp

The purpose of the Pride of the Diamond All-Skills Camp is to assist young players in improving their softball skills and developing proper playing habits. Program emphasis will be on individual skills and fundamentals of the game. Areas covered will include; outfield play, infield play, pitching, catching, base running, hitting and throwing.

The Pride of the Diamond All-Skills Camp will include drills to help to correct the faults of a young player and instruct them on the proper techniques to develop their skills.

Clinic Outline
• Camp runs from Monday thru Thursday from 9am-12:30pm
• Pride of the Diamond T-shirt for all players
• Fundamentals of Hitting & Bunting
• Instruction and Drills for pitching success
• Infield, outfield & catching
• Base-running

One Day Clinics

Your organization can select from a Pride of the Diamond One Day Pitcher/Catcher Clinic, One Day Hitting Clinic, or a One Day All Inclusive Clinic for the players in your community.

This One Day Player Clinic is designed to give a broad overview to the players of your organization. Players will have the opportunity to participate in every facet of the game if they choose. The One Day Player Clinic features all of the necessary fundamentals at each position allowing a young player to make a solid, broad contribution to her team.

Clinics are scheduled in a 3-hour segment.

Coaches Clinics

The Pride of the Diamond Coaching Clinic is designed to assist youth coaches in teaching the proper fundamentals of the game that are essential in the development of young players. The coaching clinics will provide useful and practical information that can be applied to your team's practice or on an individual basis with a young girl.

The Pride of the Diamond Coaching Clinic will include drills to help correct the faults of a young player and instruct them on the proper techniques to develop their skills. The clinic can be designed to best suit the organization's specific needs. Your coaches will benefit from an all inclusive clinic or a more specific area of interest such as pitching or hitting. You will be able to implement the drills and ideas demonstrated during the session in your practice for optimum team and individual results.

Clinic Outline
• Clinic is typically scheduled for 2 1/2 hours
• WE WILL COME TO YOU! Our staff will travel to your site to conduct the clinic
• Fundamentals of Throwing
• Instruction & Drills for pitching success
• Fundamentals & drills for infielders & outfielders
• Catching basics and drills
• Hitting mechanics and drills
• Problems and solutions in all phases of the game
• Practice organization and a practice plan
• Clinic folder with outline, practice plan and other useful information will be distributed

Adult & Child Clinic

The Pride of the Diamond Adult/Child Clinic is a unique opportunity for a parent and child to spend quality time together and take home the foundation for success.

This camp can be designed to fit your organizations wants and needs. The intent of the camp is to provide an adult and player the opportunity to apply the information given and be able to successfully develop the young player's skills. The Pride of the Diamond Adult/Child Camp will include drills to help to correct the faults of a young player and instruct them on the proper techniques to develop their skills.

Instructional camp for ages 6-12 and an adult

Camp runs for 1 or 2 days typically on a weekend for 3 hours each day

Hitting Camp

Campers will be instructed on all the physical and mental mechanics that are necessary to become a more improved hitter. This hitting camp is designed to teach players proper hitting mechanics. Coaches will emphasize proper grip, stance, balance, stride, swing mechanics and finish. Player's swings will be broken down and corrected through various drill work and batting practice.

Campers will participate in daily stations and drills that are designed to promote the proper hitting mechanics for softball.

Players will also be taught bunting techniques for sacrifice situations, bunting for a base hit, slap bunting and suicide squeezes

Camp runs for 3 days, typically 2 hours each day

Pitching Camp

Campers will be instructed on all of the physical and mental aspects of pitching. Campers will participate in stations and drills that will promote the proper pitching mechanics that are necessary for success. Players will also learn the proper grips, rotation and releases for various pitches.

Instructional camp for ages 10-18

Camp runs for 3 days typically, 2 hours each day

 

Catchers Camp

Campers will be instructed on all of the physical and mental aspects of catching. Campers will participate in stations and drills that will promote the proper catching mechanics that are necessary for success.

RASA Mini Softball Camp

Date: August 9-11, 2010

Time: 9:00 - 12:30 p.m.

Where: RASA, Veterans Park Richland Township

Cost:

$75.00 (RASA discount of $25.00 applies to the regular $100.00 price)

Topics:

We will cover many areas of hitting, pitching, catching and a variety of all skills
in a short three (3) day mini camp.

What to Bring:

Softball spikes or cleats, sneakers & socks, long pants & shorts, hat, glove,
bat, water bottle, snacks and equipment bag.

Campers Will Receive:

  • Camp T-shirt (pink),
  • Fundamentals of hitting with stations & drills
  • Fundamentals of pitching & catching with stations & drills
  • Infield, outfield & catching stations & drills
  • Base running & games
